Under the Title: “I am the Generation of Equality: Upholding Woman’s Rights”

Sharjah Archaeology Authority and its female employees celebrated International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 each year, under the slogan “I am the equality generation: realizing women’s rights”, by holding a special event with the participation of a large number of women staff working for the Authority, and its senior leadership team, in a festive atmosphere expressing pride in the accomplishments and successes of women in all fields and sectors.

The ceremony held at the Authority’s building included a workshop entitled “The Originality of Chimney”, which was presented by Khawla Al-Yahyahi, the Public Relations Officer in Sharjah Archaeology Authority, on the history of chimneys, to emphasize the importance of preserving the emirate’s archaeological cultural heritage, and highlighting a part of women’s efforts in this Heritage.

Asma Al-Suwaidi, Director of Corporate Communications and Community Service at the Authority said: “On this day, we express our pride and delight in the successes that women have achieved enhancing the position of the United Arab Emirates and ensuring their progress in various regional and global forums, where our participation in this celebration came in appreciation of the achievements made by the Authority’s employees in particular, and women in general in all sectors and fields.

The ceremony also included awarding gifts to Sharjah Archaeology Authority employees who expressed their happiness and appreciation for this day, stressing that such activities give them more ability and incentive to achieve excellence and to continue creativity to serve the Authority in particular, and to serve the community of the Emirate of Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates in general.
Sharjah Archaeology Authority supervises archaeological sites in various locations in the emirate and provides them with the necessary protection in coordination with the relevant authorities, in addition to excavating ancient times according to a well-studied and general policy, and organizing the work of foreign archaeological excavation missions operating in the emirate, by supervising, coordinating and participating with them, in addition to Studying, analyzing, restoring and maintaining such and movable and immovable archaeological Discoveries.
