A joint Archaeological expedition from the Authority and Pre-history Section from Tupengin University in Germany is conducting new excavations on the feet of Al Bhais Mountain at the Central Area.
These excavations have presented an additional evidence showing groups of food collectors (fishermen) at the area for more than 10 thousand years.
Also, 3-layered stone tools were found out. This shows that there were distinctive settlement stages. Based on the archaeological discoveries and samples of sediments. The expedition will develop the chronological order of the settlement stages in the following months. It will also carry out a separate analysis of the stone tools which were in use during each one of them.

The results of this job will help understanding the daily life, and the living styles of the people communities who inhabited that area, and their response to the climatic circumstances and environments during the pre-history eras.
