6th Edition of the World Coastal Forum

"Coastal and Underwater Cultural Heritage – Challenges and Prospects: The Shores of Sharjah as a Model"

The Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates is set to host the 6th edition of the World Coastal Forum, themed "Coastal and Underwater Cultural Heritage – Challenges and Prospects: The Shores of Sharjah as a Model." Taking place at the University of Khorfakkan from November 9 to 10, 2024, the event is organized by the Sharjah Archaeology Authority in collaboration with the University of Khorfakkan, the National Institute of Archaeology and Heritage Sciences, and the Peace Association for the Protection of Maritime Heritage in Morocco.

The forum aims to foster engagement with regional and international experiences in underwater cultural heritage, as well as to advance scientific research in this vital field. Underwater cultural heritage offers rich insights into significant historical events both locally and globally, forming a fertile ground for international cooperation and cultural exchange. The forum aligns with global efforts to enhance ocean sciences and knowledge production.
