As part of its cultural season, the Sharjah Archaeology Authority organized a specialized scientific lecture entitled “Examination and Documentation of Archaeological Textiles,” presented by Dr. Ahmed Abdul Hamid Al-Nimr. The lecture addressed the importance of archaeological textiles as a vital source for understanding the historical, cultural, and economic aspects of ancient societies.

The lecture also reviewed the most prominent examination and documentation methods used in the study of archaeological textiles, including visual and microscopic examination, traditional and digital documentation methods, and an introduction to raw materials and various textile structures that contribute to identifying manufacturing techniques, production centers, and the cultural dating of archaeological textiles.
