‘The Sharjah Archaeology Authority (SAA), organized last Monday a lecture titled “3D digital photography”, via the “Zoom” program, presented by the American expert, Dr. Herbert Maschner – President of the Global Digital Heritage. Dr. Maschner stated: The work with the Sharjah Archeology Authority during 2019/2020 came to enhance the vocabulary and areas of specialization of the international institution, and the result of this cooperation was the search in 111 sites, the images of the sites were more than 114,478 images, with a total of 306235 scans and images, and 633 laser scans. The Foundation also carried out advanced analyzes, 3D printing, 3D rendering, in Al Midfa Mosque, the tomb of Amoud bin Ali, the advisor of the ruler of Oman in Maliha, the Maliha Fort and the collections of the Sharjah Archeology Authority exhibition in Sharjah. The lecture was attended by more than 170 participants, and was administered by Dr. Yazan Abul-Hassan.
