Description: Petroglyph from the archaeological site of Wadi al Hilo, Sharjah, UAE. Wadi Helo (Arabic: وادي حلو, literally ‘Sweet wadi’) is a seasonal watercourse located in the Hajar Mountains of Sharjah. The site is important for both the extensive water course, and for the rich copper deposits that were mined for over 8000 years. Numerous petroglyphs are found along the edge of the wadi. Boulder number 1 (VALLEY 1).

Methodology: 3D model made in Reality Capture using 363 images. Additional processing completed in Geomagic Wrap and InstantMeshes.

Acknowledgment: This work is part of the collaboration agreement between Sharjah Archaeology Authority and Global Digital Heritage for the digitization of the Cultural Heritage of the Emirate of Sharjah (United Arab Emirates). We want to publicly thank the vision and determined drive of Dr. Sabah Abboud Jasim and H.E. Eisa Yousif. We also want to show our gratitude to all the SAA staff.
